Deeds determine what is up for you in life.....

Hi,

According to Jainism, one faces good or bad things according to the deeds done by his/her soul in current or past lives. God does not interfere, help or create hurdles for anyone. We do not pray to Gods, but, we just praise God and desire to achieve the kind of freedom that the God has.

All live-beings are equal for Nature or God. When an earthquake strikes or a Tsunami occurs or an asteroid hits the surface of the earth, it kills hundreds and thousands, God still does not do anything. Humans too have killed people in past ranging in lakhs to millions with atom bombs, concentration camps and world wars. God didn't interfere at that time too. Because, God is free of life and has nothing to do with the World that we live in. But, before God achieved freedom, God showed the human beings a path and asked us to walk on it to become one like him. I am talking about Lord Mahavira - he showed us the path of Ahimsa - to develop a feeling of love for all living-beings, be it a human, animal or an insect. Actually, it is even deeper than that - in his talks, he described that water, air, stones and also the fire contains life.

God does not and will never intervene in our day to day lives. It all happens because of the Karmas that one has accumulated by the deeds done in this life and those of the past.

Corruption in India

Hello Friends,

How intense is Corruption in India can be know only when one passes through the system to get his or her work done. Unfortunately, I had to go through it when I was with a friend of mine who was messed up. I saw him literally shelling out money from lowest man to highest officer. If not, he would have to sit behind bars for no fault of his own. Now, what do you think, one will do, will he sit behind bars for no fault of his own or pay bribe and dodge out of the system? Well, he did what he could to get overcome this problem.

In this incident, we met professionals, doctors, finger print expert, chaprasi, hawaldars, etc. to whom the money was given. Saheb, khushi se jo bhi dena hai de do - was the statement of each and every person.

Initially, we didnt think of giving money, but, we saw that things were happening against us. The whole system worked to put us in more and more of troubles. The moment we agreed to their demands, system took a u-turn and started favoring us.

It is a pity that we had to go though this. We had to take help of corruption - that is a pity.

From the accident spot, people who came near to see and help, stole away the mobile phones which they found lying on the ground near the severely injured passengers. This also is a pity of the mentality of the people.

This whole incident made us learn a lot. It really was an eye opener.

Movie Recommendation

To break routine, I see movies. But, movies should not add stress to your mind. I recommend the following movies

So many writers....

With technology penetration at its best, every person on net has become a writer. Social networking sites like Facebook has made it very easy to instantly share what you are feeling or comment on someone else's feelings.

Face-reading

Yesterday, me and my family had gone to a restaurant for dinner. It was a newly opened restaurant and its ambiance was very nice. Food too was good. But, we didn't feel like visiting it again because of one thing... the people who served food and the manager had angry faces. My daughter of 10 years told me about it. She could make out how a person must be by reading their faces.

Keep Curiosity Alive

Kids are full of curiosity. They like to come across new things, to face new challenges and meet new people. But, as we grow, we tend to close ourselves.

When you show that you are curious, you look more open and receptive to the person you are talking to. They also feel more friendly towards you. And, when you become curious, you only gain.
